Which proposal is this question meant for? Are you proposing a farming community?

Maybe I have a different understanding of "proposals". For me, now, it is a kind of "catch all and see what prospers". If there will be enough questions for "farming", that's OK for me. Maybe it will end up in "biology" or drown in the sea of "too many tags".

watchmaker‭ The idea of https://proposals.codidact.com is to propose new communities under the "Description" category and then use "Incubator Q&A" to post example questions for a matching community proposal, by using the tag for the new proposed community. That way we can see if there are any overlaps. For example someone suggested that Home Improvement should cover "Homesteading and livestock kept for personal use", although that was questioned and there is no consensus to include it currently.

Maybe other people have other ideas on how to use the "Proposals"? I realy like that aspect stated in the link above.

The proposals category is an incubator for new communities. You can ask questions there, tag them with one of the proposed communities and people can post answers etc. like on a normal Q&A site. Once a tag shows sufficient activity, a dedicated community can be created and all the posts with this tag will be moved there. Functionally, there isn't much difference from posting in the proposals compared to an ordinary community, you'll just have a better chance to meet people interested in DIY there than in a community for outdoors stuff.

This is explaining the same thing as Lundin's comment. Specifically, "tag them with one of the proposed communities" and then "Once a tag shows sufficient activity, a dedicated community can be created". This refers to a community tag. With the context of the previous sentence, this means "Once a [community] tag shows sufficient activity, a dedicated community can be created".

Note that asking questions not related to a particular community has been discussed previously on Meta:

• Incubator (takes all questions that aren't on-topic anywhere else) community

• Community for 'general' questions.

I hope a suitable proposed community tag can be added/created for this question - I'm interested to see the answers.

Would somebody like to create a proposal for a biology (or other suitable) community, or adjust this question to fit with the "livestock/homesteading" aspect of the home-improvement proposal?

Monica Cellio‭ I don't car what it is called or if it is subsumed by any already existing tag. That would be fine for me.

It's a bit of a stretch, but I've added this to the "everyday science" proposal. Maybe the people involved in that proposal can weigh in here.

Monica Cellio‭ That's OK for me. I know I have an inborne talent for asking strange questions (some of which drove my teachers mad, sending me from one to another).

Part of the asking is to poke and see how, where, and with what tags, the next question could be asked better.
