Incubator Q&A

Welcome to the staging ground for new communities! Each proposal has a description in the "Descriptions" category and a body of questions and answers in "Incubator Q&A". You can ask questions (and get answers, we hope!) right away, and start new proposals.

Are you here to participate in a specific proposal? Click on the proposal tag (with the dark outline) to see only posts about that proposal and not all of the others that are in progress. Tags are at the bottom of each post.

How to get back only code from ChatGPT responses? Question

+3
−0

I want to use ChatGPT to edit individual source code files. When I give it the file and state what changes I want, it tends to do those quite well, but it's also very chatty and includes a lot of explanation that I don't care about. Is it possible to get just the code in my responses?

Distinguishing features

Does the code have any distinguishing features? For example, is it indented or surrounded by backticks? If not, will the model include such features if you request them?

This would allow extracting just the code part of the response. Would that be close enough to your requirement?
