Are blue eggs special in Wingspan? Question

+3
−0

I played Wingspan at a convention recently and then bought a copy of the game. When unpacking it, I noticed that there was a large bag of mixed egg tokens and a smaller bag containing only blue egg tokens. In the convention game I played, all the eggs were mixed together and color didn't matter. The rulebook also says that color doesn't matter.

Are the blue eggs special, or were they in the past? Or is this just a quirk of product packaging?

The blue eggs are packaged separately to prevent the blue paint from marking up the other eggs. The blue paint is the most likely color to transfer to the other eggs.

There is no game play difference with blue eggs. When you play, you should mix the blue eggs together with all the others.

If you want to keep your eggs looking nice, consider storing the blue eggs separately in their own bag.
