How to finish a wood while preserving its natural scent? Question
Port Orford Cedar is a type of lumber which naturally emits a pleasant aroma.
I'd like to make some wooden crafts with this wood, because the wood itself seems nice and I really enjoy the smell.
However, I would like to finish the wood to ensure its longevity. What technique can I use to preserve the desirable scent?
One of my go to techniques is to coat wood in polyurethane. I suspect this would completely eradicate the smell.
