Welcome to the staging ground for new communities! Each proposal has a description in the "Descriptions" category and a body of questions and answers in "Incubator Q&A". You can ask questions (and get answers, we hope!) right away, and start new proposals.

What is "strength axis" on OSB boards?
OSB boards often have a stamp that says "strength axis" with an arrow, usually parallel with the longer dimension of the board. What is this strength axis? Should it be parallel or perpendicular to supporting joists? Why does OSB have a strength axis? I thought the point of OSB was supposed to be that it has randomly oriented strands so that you don't have to deal with things like wood grain direction.
