What electric smokers can cold smoke food? Question

+2
−1

I want to buy an electrical device for cold smoking food. From what I read, the temperature of the food must stay below 80F for cold smoking.

When I search for electrical smokers, most products quote their range as something like 165F - something high. This sounds like hot smoking only.

A few advertise a minimum of 100F, for example Pit Boss 10949. But 100F is more than 80F, so does this mean it is still not able to cold smoke? But it seems like if it was hot smoke only, they wouldn't bother adding a 100F setting. Perhaps setting the smoker to 100F results in the food reaching only 80F?

Are there actually electric smokers you can buy that can reliably cold smoke food? Is there a way to figure out which ones?
