Welcome to the staging ground for new communities! Each proposal has a description in the "Descriptions" category and a body of questions and answers in "Incubator Q&A". You can ask questions (and get answers, we hope!) right away, and start new proposals.

Are you here to participate in a specific proposal? Click on the proposal tag (with the dark outline) to see only posts about that proposal and not all of the others that are in progress. Tags are at the bottom of each post.

Use a mainstream definition of politics
The current description says:

>“politics” as human social phenomena which come from humanity’s tendency for subjectivity - that people may have fundamentally different beliefs, preferences, or wishes, regarding the world - and the fact that we have a shared environment in which we must collectively make choices about the state of things.

This seems like an original definition. Wikipedia offers a more [straightforward definition](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Politics):

>activities that are associated with making decisions in groups, or other forms of power relations among individuals, such as the distribution of resources or status.

I think that using an unusual definition will confuse and put off new users, and will make the site grow slower than it could.

It sounds like the author feels strongly about this definition on a personal level, so I am posting here because I think an edit suggestion is not the best avenue for discussing it.
