#1: Initial revision
What is the gender distribution in each of the Star Wars trilogies?
What is the gender distribution in each of the Star Wars trilogies, and how does it distribute over each faction or group, such as the separatist droid army, empire officers, jedi, etc? I am somewhat unsure what the most reasonable way to measure the distribution is, if characters with more screentime, or more narrative significance will weigh more, but I am generally curious if a deeper look at this question can shed some light that can conflict with the conceived cultural idea of the trilogies. Making a note of complementary material, novels, cartoons or studio statements is fair, but the focus is on what the movies present on their own, either explicitly or implicitly. I am not really looking for an answer to which trilogy is the more diverse, which does a more fair job of representing the real world, is the most ethically appropriate, or which makes the most sense.
