Welcome to the staging ground for new communities! Each proposal has a description in the "Descriptions" category and a body of questions and answers in "Incubator Q&A". You can ask questions (and get answers, we hope!) right away, and start new proposals.

How does psychology defines the formation of one's identity and what are the possible consequences of trauma or any interference in this process? Question
I want to learn more about what we as humans go through psychologically to form what we call an identity. I know that identity might have a large definition and it is a result of a multi-variable process, as I have heard and read in different places people talking and discussing about identity. I am looking for references to start studying more about how psychology sees and defines this process, if they do. And I have a particular interest in study cases where this process of acquiring an identity is interrupted or has any sort of problem which reflects in the life of the individual. But before focusing on this specific point, I want to learn the base of the knowledge, therefore, this question.
As I couldn't find any community focused on psychology here on Codidact, this may be a support for those who look for one.
