Welcome to the staging ground for new communities! Each proposal has a description in the "Descriptions" category and a body of questions and answers in "Incubator Q&A". You can ask questions (and get answers, we hope!) right away, and start new proposals.
Are you here to participate in a specific proposal? Click on the proposal tag (with the dark outline) to see only posts about that proposal and not all of the others that are in progress. Tags are at the bottom of each post.
Allowing Meta discussions about categories to be tagged
I tried to add the tag "categories" to a Meta post and was told I cannot because it is a mod only tag. This was surprising, but it made sense once I looked at the tag page:
Parent for tags that indicate categories (other than Q&A) for proposal posts. If a proposal will use additional categories, create tags beginning
category-and make them children of this tag. Do not use this parent tag directly.
However, it seems likely there will be discussions on Meta about categories, and this prevents them from being tagged "categories". Is there an alternative name that could be used for the parent tag that would make clear that it is not to be used, and avoid this clash with a potential tag for discussions about categories? Currently "categories" shows up in the tags list when creating a post, with no indication that it is not available until pressing save on the new post.
