Made my way from the Olympus of Complexity Theory, Probabilistic Combinatorics and Property Testing to the down-to-earth domain of Heterogeneous and GPU Computing. I spent several years trying to bring the gospel of GPUs, and columnar computation and massive-regularized parallelism to DBMS architectures. These days I spend my times accelerating medical scanner image reconstruction from raw scans.
I have been very critical of StackExchange, Inc., which is why I'm here; but for now, I'm still mostly on StackOverflow.
