Does the game's ending lock you out of existing progress and unfinished missions? Question

After starting act 3, is it possible to return to the game as before? Act 3's first mission, Nocturne OP55N1, is described as a "point of no return", but it also states that all side jobs and other activities will be locked until the end of all the main missions. Does that mean when act 3 is done, I can return to the game as before? Or will some stuff be cancelled, or eternally unavailable? For instance, if I did not yet finish the Judy or Panam missions, can I not do these when I return? There are also other characters in the game that I haven't met yet, and many missions not labelled "side job". Will these be eternally unavailable? Or will I simply be teleported back to before the mission once act 3 is done, so I can replay the ending of the game like in a loop? And keep all loot and other things I acquired during act 3? If that is the case, can I continue unlocking other endings to choose from if I then replay act 3? Or do I or the game simply store the save point before starting the point of no return mission, and then load that back up again instead, once the game has ended?

If I remember correctly, the game saves at a position when you are just about to do the final mission and once you have finished it and watched the ending, it will take you back to that state, as if you never played the last mission.

The reason for this is likely that there are multiple possible endings and some of them involve protagonist characters dying.

It's a bit hard to know for sure. Looking online, there seems to be so many conflicting answers to this, which makes me rather uncomfortable with using my current save to finish the game. With over 100 hours in the game already, I don't feel like spending another 20 finishing the game (I take a good look at my surroundings, etc...), just to have to discard that save again later. But I'll go back and test with some other saves I stored, once I'm done with the game; probably 1-2 months.

Andreas witnessed the end of the world today‭ The final mission doesn't take very long. And you won't get anything material from it, just the achievement and watching the ending... lots of endings are possible.

Yeah, I looked at a chart of the endings that somebody created and put on Reddit; quite useful. If the game actually does store a savepoint and simply returns to that without writing anything more to it, all should be fine.
