What can I do with humans captured in pal spheres?

I've discovered that I can capture syndicate thugs in pal spheres. I can then have them fight for me or work in my base like regular pals.

The thugs I caught (around level 10) seemed pretty useless. They have mediocre stats, weak attacks and very few work skills (just transporting Lv1).

Are these guys good for anything? Are there humans that are more useful? Can you butcher humans for food or extract/condense their essence? How do I get rid of them, so that at least they don't take space in my pal box?
