Laser rangefinder does not adjust main gun on BMP-3 Question
When I use the laser rangefinder (default, L1+X), it's supposed to automatically adjust the gun targeting such that the range is in line with that of the target. That's also been my experience with every vehicle I've used until the BMP-3. The laser rangefinder only adjusts the 30mm 2A72 autocannon (primary armament, main calibre gun in controls scheme) and the 7.62mm PKT machine gun (machine gun in control scheme), but not the 100mm 2A70 cannon (primary armament, secondary gun in controls scheme).
According to many posts I've found online, the LRF is supposedly the tool that makes the low-velocity HE shells from the 100mm deadly at range, so apparently it's supposed to be adjusted by it. Then why isn't it adjusted in my case, and how do I fix it?

Seems like it's by design; the LRF only adjusts the currently selected main weapon, and by default, that's the 30mm, not the 100mm.
You have to change the weapon selection during battle in order to adjust the 100mm with the LRF. For example, bring up the multi-function menu and go to Weaponry -> Select secondary weapon
. Now the 30mm will be disabled, thus cannot be fired until the weapon selection is switched or reset, while the 100mm's trigger button will be the "main calibre gun"; the one that normally fires the 30mm.
The superior solution would appear to be a switch of the LRF to default to the secondary weapon on a vehicle like the BMP-3, or swap the designation of the two guns; especially as on console, weapon selection switches are rather long with default controls, thus not viable at a moment's notice. This doesn't seem to be a possibility, though.
