Welcome to the staging ground for new communities! Each proposal has a description in the "Descriptions" category and a body of questions and answers in "Incubator Q&A". You can ask questions (and get answers, we hope!) right away, and start new proposals.

Are you here to participate in a specific proposal? Click on the proposal tag (with the dark outline) to see only posts about that proposal and not all of the others that are in progress. Tags are at the bottom of each post.

Comment Post #288381 I agree with this: use the tags you would use on the launched site, plus the special proposal tag. In addition to the points in this answer, this will avoid launching a new community with a bunch of untagged content. The best time to tag is when you're writing or editing the post.

We'll move questions at launch and redirect from here (so people with the incubator URL aren't out of luck). If you prefer, we can exclude categories of questions from the move, like if you'd rather not br...

Answer A: Reduce the number of characters needed in description titles from fifteen
Oops! Thanks for catching this. I have a great many site settings available to tweak, but I don't seem to have one for this. I'll need to get a developer assist -- on our list now. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. (Update: fix made, pending deploy.)

Question Introducing a new proposals process
Welcome to the new Proposals site! As we noted in the proposal for this change, we feel we need better way to propose and evaluate new communities for our network. A single post and people expressing interest isn't expressive enough; we think actually asking and answering questions that fit the p...

Answer How to propose a community on the codidact.com network
Our network of communities is growing but is still small. If the community you're looking for isn't here, you can propose adding it. To help us grow, we're looking to build active, thriving communities that start with a group of people who are already interested in building it. We don't require ...
