Welcome to the staging ground for new communities! Each proposal has a description in the "Descriptions" category and a body of questions and answers in "Incubator Q&A". You can ask questions (and get answers, we hope!) right away, and start new proposals.
Are you here to participate in a specific proposal? Click on the proposal tag (with the dark outline) to see only posts about that proposal and not all of the others that are in progress. Tags are at the bottom of each post.

A: Bringing Adventurer 5M Pro's base plate down after finishing a print Turns out, there is a "Homing" button hidden in the settings menu. Click on the cog wheel in the left sidebar of the touch screen to go to the settings page: screenshot of the touch screen. On the left, there are five buttons for navigations. The second lowest is an image of a cog wheel which w... (more) |

Maybe talk to the users who contributed questions for the finance proposal if they might be willing to write a new thought through proposal? The two current ones are just copy&pasted from reddit and another place. (more) |

Question | — |
Bringing Adventurer 5M Pro's base plate down after finishing a print I have a Flashforge Adventurer 5M Pro 3D printer. I'm using Orca Slicer to prepare the print files and then transfer them to the printer via a thumb drive. After a print is finished, the base plate will stay at the z-position in which it printed. For small objects this means that the base plate is... (more) |

Is this really a problem? I thought most users will just start typing the first couple of letters and then pick a tag from the proposed list. What specifically is difficult to write? The ampersand?
Personally, I would prefer "Arts & Crafts", as it is broader. I'm not a native speaker, but I would... (more) |

If it is just for your personal use, bundle all the dice together with the 6s up and spray paint this site. A thin coat of spray paint shouldn't influence the results too much ... won't be good enough for the gambling industry, but if it is just to have some fun... (more) |

I'm not sure an international Q&A site will be able to provide a lot of useful information. Many of the guidelines for recycling will depend on the country or state you live in. In Germany, such regulations can even vary from council to council and between different companies tasked with collecting t... (more) |

Maybe you could start with the crucial question: is there a device which will keep your garage dust free? If the answer is no, you can skip all the other questions. (more) |

The question is very broad, so posting a comment as it only covers some aspects: From experience with one dust collector and several shop vacuums, I can see two advantages of a dust collector:
- A dust collector does not clog up (at least the one we have). Even with expensive shop vacuums, we had... (more) |

A big problem on LaTeX Q&A sites are users who come from a mathjax background and don't understand that mathjax only emulates a subset of LaTeX syntax and think they can simply use their mathjax code in LaTeX. If they use `$$...$$` for their formula, they will at least get some result, albeit with po... (more) |

The main reason why SE does not enable mathjax by default is that is very slow
> MathJax increases page load times drastically, so it's only supported on sites that have demonstrated a serious need for it.

If you verbatim copy text from other sites, e.g. https://money.stackexchange.com/help/on-topic and https://quant.stackexchange.com/help/on-topic you should at least use block quotes and cite your sources! (more) |

Why does it need a dedicated codidact site if everything you want is already covered by another Q&A site? Your proposal does not have anything unique, it just quotes what another site already has. (more) |

I think a dedicated post has higher visibility than tag descriptions. How many people are really reading them? Also tags are a bit difficult to edit at the moment: https://meta.codidact.com/posts/279616 . A post also has the advantage that you can easily see new activity/edits . (more) |

Question | — |
Alternative to ironing seams I sometimes do small sewing projects, like changing the hem of some trousers (made of cotton). For a good looking finish, I would normally need to iron the new hem to create a nice crisp edge. This step often takes more time than the actual sewing work (running down in the basement, setting up the... (more) |
