Welcome to the staging ground for new communities! Each proposal has a description in the "Descriptions" category and a body of questions and answers in "Incubator Q&A". You can ask questions (and get answers, we hope!) right away, and start new proposals.

Are you here to participate in a specific proposal? Click on the proposal tag (with the dark outline) to see only posts about that proposal and not all of the others that are in progress. Tags are at the bottom of each post.

Comment Post #292484 > As it stands now (+0/-3) well, you can imagine which signal this sends. As I said above, the downvotes on this question are a ranking of this question's usefulness, not an interest gauge for the community itself. > I for one would upvote any and all posts regarding a new community, wether I a...

Comment Post #292484 Codidact is using the Q/A format because we seek a certain level of quality. When you propose a new community, and contribute Q/A to that, people around here will expect that it suits the Q/A format, and has at least a minimum of what they consider quality. This is why your "most influential anime" q...

Comment Post #292484 Well, this meta Q/A will be read by even fewer than the proposal post will be read by. I went through every community tag in here, yesterday, and added a link back to their proposal posts. Should help with the flow. > As you might have noticed, not even the proposal poster has reacted on his own ...

Comment Post #292478 Because Olin is not interested in partaking in the community as a power user, or he is not confident that he has any useful questions or answers to contribute. That does not mean he can not interact with the content in that community. He is still welcome to vote on things, flag what should be flagged...

Comment Post #290246 The question is very centered around Google, but you have not tagged the question with that search engine. Did you intend for the question to catch all search engines in use, a subset of them, or only Google?

Answer A: Change biome for entire world
One suboptimal solution is World Edit. I selected an area of 82,000,000+ blocks with World Edit, then used `//setbiome`. Unexpectedly, this actually did work. WE can usually handle only a maximum between 3-4 million blocks at once. The game continued on running, but the internal server stopped res...

Comment Post #292440 > The proposal question is part of that list No, it isn't. The "star-wars" tag, for instance, isn't on the community proposal description for Video Games or Movies. Seems you misunderstood, and think I'm talking about the _community tag_. That's another thing, but even if I was talking about th...

Answer A: Link back to the proposal post in the wiki for the proposal's tag
Since I now have the tag edit ability, I have edited every single tag for proposed communities existing to this day. I'll do that going forward for new ones, too, but it was tremendously tedious and time-consuming going through all of those, so this is definitely something I'd like to see being autom...

Comment Post #292439 Doesn't have to be an automatic extra field, the software can simply automatically create the tag and paste the link into the wiki when the proposal is posted.

Comment Post #292441 Asking for the existence of such a list, isn't so useful as asking where that list actually is. In other words, either type of question will generate the same answer. And that means the question is looking for an off-site resource. So the answer will end up being a link-only answer, for the most part...

Comment Post #292428 > I'd expect the number of people viewing them to scale similarly. I don't have experience from Area51.SE, but I do have experience from SO, and I do know it doesn't scale _at all_ there. If you have experience from Area51, you can draw from those, but my impression is that Proposals.CD is _more a...

Comment Post #292437 Thanks, I'll check it out. That certainly sounds like a helpful tip to me, personally, but I'm unsure if it could help land a conclusion on the question here, unless we'd allow link-only answers for a few exceptions, or questions asking where on the internet to find some information.

Question On a tag's wiki, list every community proposal using the tag on a question
When looking at a tag in the Incubator Q/A category, I often want to know which community that tag belongs to. As is the case today, tags in that category aren't actually confined to a single community, but shared between all the community proposals that happen to have posts using the tag. It would b...

Question Link back to the proposal post in the wiki for the proposal's tag
When I'm browsing through questions in the Q/A category, I often want to look closer at the community proposal that the question belongs to. The most obvious path to follow, then, is to click on the community tag under the post, however, that tag doesn't actually link back to the proposal at all; in ...

Question Is there room for a long list of types of buildings and facilities in a city or country?
I'm looking for a very long and sufficiently detailed list of every possible type of facility that exists in the world today, or perhaps is likely to exist in the future. For example, the list would include "cinema", different kinds of cinemas, various "restaurant" types, "apartment"s and a rough set...

Comment Post #292389 - Filmatography consumption - Filmatography & Literature At the same time, "movies" is kinda "catchy", and pretty well describes the purpose. Comment Post #292428 Does the lack of downvoting really scale? Question What is the gender distribution in each of the Star Wars trilogies?

Comment Post #292427 Why would I prefer Meta Codidact over the Proposals meta category for a community that is still only a proposal, and has not graduated yet? Is it purely to raise the issue to the broader network and community? That should not be necessary if unless the Proposals site is "overrun".

Comment Post #291191 Yeah, and I think the current selection of answers already proves that point well enough. The question is pretty much asking for regulations and facilities, something which can potentially generate over two hundred answers, one for each country. That's not particularly useful in the current format.

Question Why can we not vote for community proposals?
Codidact is rather strongly centered around the idea of voting on content. Personally, I am open to revisit the manner in which we rank and asses content on the network, but for the time being, that is part of the core of Codidact. Then why can we not vote for proposed communities? The now defunc...

Question How do I object to a community proposal?
Codidact is wide open to have any sort of community proposed. This means that any kind of proposal can also gain a significant backing from either new or existing members.
