Welcome to the staging ground for new communities! Each proposal has a description in the "Descriptions" category and a body of questions and answers in "Incubator Q&A". You can ask questions (and get answers, we hope!) right away, and start new proposals.

Are you here to participate in a specific proposal? Click on the proposal tag (with the dark outline) to see only posts about that proposal and not all of the others that are in progress. Tags are at the bottom of each post.

Answer A: How do I increase the height of my world?
This is one of the things that datapacks are designed for, a standard feature in vanilla Minecraft. You can either download an existing datapack from a site like Modrinth, or you can write your own. A datapack is stored inside the folder for each world, so it only applies to one world at a time. If y...

Question How do I increase the height of my world?
I have a world that I made a few years ago. I've built a lot in it, but realized that I've hit a stopblock. I need more vertical space. Can I somehow increase the build height limits, both below and above my world?

Comment Post #292482 > "the hero gets magically saved", then your fictional world is pointless and nobody would want to hear stories about it. Not necessarily, no. See _One Punch Man_. He’s pretty much invincible, and can accomplish victory in every battle of power. The world he lives in can still be explored, and the...

Comment Post #292482 The useful part of a WorldBuilding community is that it can cover topics that go beyond science. It can cover defining and laying out different kind of universes, with different ground rules than ours. Fantasy universes, for instance.

Comment Post #292482 When you break it down this much, would all these sub-questions not be on-topic on [Scientific Speculation](https://scientific-speculation.codidact.com)? What would then be the point of the WorldBuilding site? Clearly, that site should perhaps take other kind of questions, then. But which? Shoul...

Remove unnecessary statements/requirements. Including this does no good. It only detracts, and frustrates readers. It's not constructive.

Comment Post #292468 Voting is our content ranking mechanism. It is an integral part of the Q/A system, and you can't simply state that they don't apply. Even if you personally don't care about the votes on your post here, others do. The system does, too. Also, stating one's opinion by voting here, can be done by anyo...

Comment Post #292478 Supporting the creation of a community is not the same as participating in it after creation, nor the same as participating in it before creation. You can help shape a community, while continuously not wanting it. For example, Olin may think that the Worldbuilding proposal itself, is bad, low quality...

Comment Post #292484 But creating that post on Meta, doesn't provide any clarity or help enlighten the issue at all, it only creates even more confusion. > The react function does not reflect the "real interest" in a proposal. It does so as long as intereted people are aware of the reaction feature. From my experi...

Comment Post #292484 > But there is more to it. I know the trouble from WB:SE. If those things are not addressed here, the one question we have might remain the only one. You should elaborate on that, then. Either in a comment under the proposal, or write a well-articulated post on Meta explaining the problems with WB...

Question Proposal authors can cause disruption by deleting their proposal
There is one specific issue here with one emergency solution. Because of this specific situation, we have discovered a flaw in our system. This flaw needs to be discussed further, and eventually resolved. A few days ago, a new member with no prior experience here, created a new Movies & Literature...

Comment Post #292484 @#85389 Do be aware that your personal vision of what you want the Worldbuilding community to look like, might not align with the goals of Codidact, and cannot be implemented in practice, here. That does not mean we are opposed to a worldbuilding community, or want to hinder the creation of one.

Comment Post #292484 Codidact is using the Q/A format because we seek a certain level of quality. When you propose a new community, and contribute Q/A to that, people around here will expect that it suits the Q/A format, and has at least a minimum of what they consider quality. This is why your "most influential anime" q...

Answer A: Change biome for entire world
One suboptimal solution is World Edit. I selected an area of 82,000,000+ blocks with World Edit, then used `//setbiome`. Unexpectedly, this actually did work. WE can usually handle only a maximum between 3-4 million blocks at once. The game continued on running, but the internal server stopped res...

Answer A: Link back to the proposal post in the wiki for the proposal's tag
Since I now have the tag edit ability, I have edited every single tag for proposed communities existing to this day. Comment Post #292439 Doesn't have to be an automatic extra field, the software can simply automatically create the tag and paste the link into the wiki when the proposal is posted.

Comment Post #292441 Asking for the existence of such a list, isn't so useful as asking where that list actually is. In other words, either type of question will generate the same answer. Comment Post #292437 Thanks, I'll check it out. That certainly sounds like a helpful tip to me, personally, but I'm unsure if it could help land a conclusion on the question here, unless we'd allow link-only answers for a few exceptions, or questions asking where on the internet to find some information.

Question On a tag's wiki, list every community proposal using the tag on a question
When looking at a tag in the Incubator Q/A category, I often want to know which community that tag belongs to. As is the case today, tags in that category aren't actually confined to a single community, but shared between all the community proposals that happen to have posts using the tag. It would b...

Question Link back to the proposal post in the wiki for the proposal's tag
When I'm browsing through questions in the Q/A category, I often want to look closer at the community proposal that the question belongs to.
